What is now known as St. Clair Shores was settled by French pioneers in the late 1700s. Chartered as the world’s largest village in 1925, it was incorporated as a city in 1951. St. Clair Shores, centered off the intersection of I-94 and I-696 in Macomb County, is 11.6 square miles with 7 miles of Lake St. Clair shoreline. The economic base is 90% residential with retail, services, and light industry. The City features 3 waterfront and 10 neighborhood parks, 2 city marinas, pool, waterslide, dog park, water park, city golf course, 2 ice rinks, Senior Activities Center, organized athletic & special interest.
